Naomi Campbell Reveals a Supermodel Reunion is in the Works!

The original supers are uniting, and it feels so good!

In an appearance on CBS This Morning to promote her new season of The Face, supermodel coach Naomi Campbell caused waves of excitement throughout our office by hinting at a secret project that she says will reunite her with some of her fellow original supermodels—i.e. Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Stephanie Seymour, Claudia Schiffer and Kate Moss— in a few weeks.

“We’re working with each other in a few weeks, which is like a big reunion when it happens, ” said Naomi. Though she wouldn’t reveal why they were reuniting or where, she did say it would be taking place at  ”a very nice, sunny, warm place on the water.”

When asked about her role as a supermodel, and how it has changed over the years, Naomi admit, “I came up with a great group of ladies, and I don’t think you’ll ever get a group of us like that together ever again.  You may get one here, one there, one there, but as a whole, you’ll never get it again.”

Supermodel talk aside, Naomi did also reveal one other surprising career ambition.  ”I would love to do Saturday Night Live,” she told Gayle King.  ”I think sense of humor is the best thing in the world. To make fun of yourself.  To be another character. And you can always say, ‘I was just acting. It wasn’t me.’”

While you can’t watch Naomi on SNL just yet (seriously, who do call to make that happen?), you can catch her every Wednesday night on The Face airing at 10/9c on Oxygen— don’t miss out!

Put A Bow On It

There’s no escaping the bow trend this season. Whether adorning a dress, tied in your hair, or cinched around the waist, the inherently sweet motif is finding its way into a bevy of designer looks this season, erasing all preconceptions of grade school dressing.

Take Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for example, who showed us a sexier side of the bow on the red carpet at the BRIT Awards in London last month. The iridescent Saint Laurent tiger print mini dress was cinched at the waist with a neat black bow, providing a touch of femininity to the model’s otherwise sultry ensemble. Fellow British beauty, Poppy Delevingne has also made good use of the charming accessory, sporting a ribbon bow in her hair at the Anya Hindmarch show at London Fashion Week.

On the flip side, dainty accessories can sometimes look their most modern when placed askew. Designers like Roksanda offered a contemporary interpretation of the trend in its most recent collection consisting of oversized black neoprene bows with sharp edges secured in a simple pony. The rigid look is neither flouncy nor whimsical, but rather a sophisticated take on the typically “girly” accessory. And, for that punk-meets-princess vibe, look no further than runway favorites Lindsey Wixon and Sasha Luss, who appear in Chanel’s S/S 2014 Campaign wearing bows embellished with tiny pearls. Tres chic!

So, the next time your pulling on a pair of your favorite boyfriend jeans, try adding a bow for a touch of femininity. Just be sure to keep it simple so as to avoid looking too fussy or over styled- it’s meant to look effortless and cool. Start by polishing up your ribbon tying skills and start shopping some bow-adorned pieces for a model-inspired look in the slideshow below!

Lara Lands Bazaar!

Someone’s on a winning streak, and we totally called it!

Hot off of the release of her March Vogue Paris cover, Lara Stone is set to take over the newsstands once again this month as the star of Harper’s Bazaar’s April issue!  Shot by Daniel Jackson, the supermodel — and now super mother— proves that she is in fact fashion’s latest ‘obsession’ as she shifts effortlessly through a mix of spring looks from the likes of Michel Kors, Gucci and Roberto Cavalli, styled by Julia von Boehm.

The cover comes at an exciting time for the Dutch beauty, who turned 30 in December— though she admits to only being able to say her age out loud for a few week now.  ’I. Am. 30,’ ” says Lara in her interview with Derek Blasberg. “Maybe I have age dysmorphia. I know I’m young, but I feel so old.”

Of course, the reality of the situation is that Lara’s allure has perhaps, never been stronger.  We think Riccardo Tisci says is best, calling her a “Gothic Brigitte Bardot” — a role she’s played in countless other fashion editorials and cover shoots in the past.  As of late, you’ll find her famous pout and gap-toothed beauty being put to good use in L’Oreal’s new spring adverts— her first as a brand ambassador, joining the likes of Christy Turlington and Liya Kebede.  Not too shabby for a model who didn’t see her big break until the age of 22— a late start by industry standards.

“When I stop and think about it—which I don’t do very often—I think, This doesn’t make any sense,” says Lara of success. “I look around and see thousands of girls who could have had this career.”  There could only ever be one Lara Stone though, and we for one are beyond excited to see the beautiful blonde back in all of her glory this month!

To see Lara’s full interview and cover shoot, head over to Harper’s Bazaar online, and pick up a copy of the April issue on newsstands March 25.

Insta-Obsession: The #GarageGirls

All throughout Paris Fashion Week, we had our eyes on the designer runways, carefully awaiting for a supermodel’s return to the runway, or a newcomer’s first turn on the catwalk.  And yet, little did we know that some of the best model action of the season was happening inside a giant pink truck just outside the show venues.  Come to find out, it was no ordinary truck.  In fact, the truck in question actually belonged to the team at Garage magazine and is the source of our latest model obsession!

While bringing go-sees to the streets of Paris last week, Garage magazine enlisted a number of Fashion Week’s top models, including Cara Delevingne, Lindsey Wixson, Jacquelyn Jablonski and Nadja Bender, to climb inside and strike a pose for a series of photos that were later turned  into quirky #GarageGirls model cards complete with their own personal fashion credentials, witty nicknames and tons of props.

As fashion’s resident “Charlie Chaplin” these days, it comes as no surprise that Cara has one of the more hilarious cards, posing in her post-Chanel show dreadlocks with her sunglasses and custom “Cara” grill in tack. Naturally, her card reads “BY SPECIAL BOOKING,” and makes note of her astrology sign, “Leo,” and  latest obsession: “snacks and sex.” Meanwhile, Jacquelyn “Jaxxx” Jablonski confesses to having an obsession with peanut butter, Grace Mahary says she keeps “lots and lots of Hubba-Bubba gum” in her garage.

Karl Lagerfeld Deems Cara Delevingne ‘Genius’

Karl Lagerfeld has never been one to mince his words, so you can never be too sure what the designer is going to say about well, anyone! Like running in high-heels, earning the Kaiser’s praise is no easy task— just ask Pippa Middleton— which is perhaps what makes his latest statements about Cara Delevingne that much more significant!

Speaking to The Sunday Times Style, the 80-year-old designer described his latest model muse by comparing her to two iconic, yet very different, faces: Charlie Chaplin and Kate Moss. ”She’s a character. She’s the Charlie Chaplin of the fashion world,” said Lagerfeld. “She is kind of genius, like a character out of a silent movie. I would see her better in a silent movie than a talkie because she over-accents the movement. Girls admire her like they used to Kate Moss. They all want to be as free as her.” And though he fails to mention it, we can’t help pointing out the one other obvious connection Cara and Chaplin share: their impeccable brows!

Though we’re tempted to make the argument that it’s impossible to compare Cara to anyone as she’s a true original if we’ve ever seen one, we’ll take what we can get with fashion’s most-fearless straight-talker, and just count this one as a win for our girl Cara!

It’s a Tie! Nastya Stern and Manuela Frey Are the Top Models of Fashion Month

The results are in! After a full month of back-to-back fashion shows we’ve tallied up the numbers to see which models walked the most runways this season and guess what… we have a tie!

Models Nastya Stern and Manuela Frey, both of whom are assigned to The Society modeling agency, took home the gold this season, each walking in a total of 63 shows from New York to Paris.  Unsurprisingly, the girls walked in a number of the same shows, including Michel Kors, J.W Anderson, Dolce & Gabbana and Acne, while also having their fair share of standout moments.  Nastya for one, had the honor of opening four headlining shows this year, as well as closing Chanel, while Manuela scored four opening slots and closed two.

Coming in at number two was fellow Society superstar and last year’s second ranked catwalker, Josephine Le Tutour, who walked a total of 60 shows this season, despite skipping London Fashion Week all-together.  The French model put in notable appearances at Jason Wu, Ralph Lauren, Gucci, Christian Dior and Givenchy, and also had the honor of opening the Costume National show in Milan.  Wilhelmina model Elisabeth Erm also landed 60 shows this season, including Chanel, Giorgio Armani, and Marc Jacobs, while Serbian model Milla “Mijo” Mihaljcic (IMG) rounded out the top three, walking in a total of 58 shows.

Curious to see who else topped this season’s runways?  Check out the full ranking after the jump!
