The 20 Best Model Magazine Covers of November 2014

All month long, we’ve been hailing the return of models on magazine covers, posting their hard-won glossy efforts on Twitter, Instagram and of course, right here on the blog.  Now, with November officially in full swing and the first of the December covers already starting to trickle in, it’s time to look back at the 20 covers that had us repeatedly rushing to the newsstand nearest us.

Among our favorites this month was the bedazzled warrior-inspired portrait of Adriana Lima for Paris Vogue and W magazine‘s jaw-dropping group shot featuring Daria Werbowy, Lara Stone, Raquel Zimmermann and a topless Kate Moss; both of which were captured by photography duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. Not to be outdone, Alessandra Ambrosio can be seen stripping down to nothing but a skinny tie for the cover of Lui magazine, while Gisele Bündchen smolders in a teeny yellow bikini for Elle Brazil. But that’s not all — Liu Wen, Miranda Kerr, Joan Smalls and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley all make appearances in this month’s cover roundup, making the cover roundup below a definite must-see!

After months of anticipation, the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund crowned its latest winner on Monday night at Spring Studios in New York City. Karlie Kloss Proves It: Coding is Officially in Style!

A video posted by @karliekloss on

Last week, AOL’s millennial site,, launched its latest initiative with Girls Who Code, a non-profit organization that is committed to closing the gender gap in the technology and engineering sections.  As part of the partnership, five of the group’s alumnae worked on a complete site overhaul and while some may consider coding a nerdy past-time, we know of at least one supermodel who is on board with the tech skill: Victoria’s Secret’s own, Karlie Kloss.

After having posted an image of herself learning how to code back in August, Karlie took to social media once again this past weekend to show her support of the tech world, this time tweeting a special message of congratulations to the Cambio team. “The future of technology will be #BuiltByGirls! Congrats to the @GirlsWhoCode alumnae who rebuilt @cambio,” wrote the budding supermodel-mogul.  Little did we know, she wasn’t the only super taking note of the Girls Who Code.  Just days before her annual Halloween bash, Heidi Klum shared her support of the initiative with her 2.6 million followers along with such other notables as Maria Menounos, Michelle Phan, Kate Walsh and Rachel Roy.

So, nerdy, square— call it what you will, but these supers agree: coding is now officially in style!

Cara Delevingne Has Officially Crossed Over to the Dark Side

When Cara Delevingne gives her seal of approval to something, you just know it’s going to be big.  So the fact that the model has officially crossed over to the dark side (of hair color that is) should tell you one thing: brunettes are officially having a moment.

The multi-hyphenate model stepped out at the 2014 LACMA Art + Film Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday sporting a messy braid in a rich, all-over hazelnut shade of brown.  If you ask us, the warmer color suits Cara well, drawing even more attention to her signature statement brows and runway-ready complexion, while the richness adds a healthy dose of gloss.

This news comes just weeks after Cara’s best friend (and fellow British model-turned-actress) Suki Waterhouse revealed her new chocolate brown tresses, suggesting at a possible beauty trend on the rise.  Either way, we can’t deny that Cara looks quite chic as brunette, and with the colder months ahead, we couldn’t think of a better time for a good ‘ol switch up.  Next up, a dramatic cut (we hope)!

British Vogue Dedicates It’s December Issue to Kate Moss and All of Her Favorite Things

What do you know, Christmas is coming early this year for us Kate Moss fans. British Vogue has just unveiled its December 2014 issue, and in an unsurprising move the glossy has once again tapped the supermodel to star on not one, but two separate covers shot by longtime collaborator Mario Testino.

The issue, aptly titled ‘Kate’s World,’ marks the 36th time that Kate has covered the fashion bible, for which she has served as a contributing fashion editor since 2013.  In addition to being featured in an 11-page editorial entitled “Her Infinite Variety,” a shoot that explores the many faces of Kate, the issue is also centered entirely around her— not unlike its December 2013 issue which also spotlighted the super in honor of her then upcoming 40th birthday.
