It’s arguably the biggest night on London’s fashion calendar, so it comes as no surprise that celebrities worldwide came out to celebrate the annual British Fashion Awards in droves! Held at the London Coliseum on Monday night, the star-studded ceremony celebrated the best that the British fashion industry has to offer, including its home-grown model talent!
While it’s well-known that Kate Moss was the recipient of tonight’s Special Recognition Award honoring her 25-years in the fashion industry and presented by her BFF Marc Jacobs, it appears that Edie Campabell also has some celebrating to do tonight! The 23-year-old model was awarded the coveted Model of the Year Award presented by legendary photographer Tim Walker this evening, taking the reigns from last year’s winner (and 2013 nominee) Cara Delevingne, and previous Model of the Year winners, Georgia May Jagger, Lara Stone and Ms. Moss.
The longtime Burberry veteran has graced just about every major runway from New York to Paris, walking for the likes of Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs (a strong supporter of Campbell’s over the years), Victoria Beckham, Saint Laurent and Louis Vuitton. Along with her catwalk credentials, the British beauty has also appeared in a number of major international campaigns for brands including Marc Jacobs, Lanvin and Alexander McQueen. And, let us not forget that it was Edie who is credited with the return of the mullet cut, after dying and chopping off her once long blonde hair into a shaggy jet-black mullet for Jacobs’ Fall ’13 show last February. With that kind of sartorial prowess, it’s no wonder Edie was crowned victorious this time around.
Congrats Edie— the award is well-deserved!
