It’s been a while since we’ve seen Agyness Deyn on the runway. To be exact: her last show was in 2009, at which point the British model, once famed for her peroxide pixie and Dr. Marten boots, retired from modeling to pursue a career in acting. But after a near five-year hiatus, it appears that Aggy is finally ready to make a comeback, only this time as a fashion designer rather than a model.
With the help of sister Emily and Tracey Moore, her design partner in her Dr. Martens collaboration, Agyness has just launched a new line called Title A, which debuted exclusively on Net-a-Porter last week. The “androgynous” collection — inspired by such feminist style icons as Patti Smith, Katharine Hepburn, Diane Keaton and Cathy Horyn, believe it or not — offers “menswear clothes without the feminine touch…like darts and things like that,” Aggy told The Cut.

The result is a covetable collection of well-cut, not ridiculously expensive separates that are dressy, but never complicated. Surprised? We certainly were! Among our favorite pieces you’ll find a not-too-slouchy Oxford shirt, a luxurious jacquard midi-skirt, velvet smoking jackets, delicate slip dresses, and a pinstriped wool coat that is already at the top of our Fall “must-haves’ list.
“I’ve always worn boys’ clothes growing up and menswear all the time, but I feel like this is slightly different,” said Aggy of her first collection. ”It’s more of embracing femininity with whatever you wear, like the silk dresses…I think capturing the femininity of a woman [happens] when you see her rather than seeing the clothes.”
It’s good to have you back Aggy. Now, let the shopping commence!
Title A is available from Net-A-Porter.com and online at Title A.
