Modelinia Anniversary Countdown: Our 5 Favorite Model Tweeters

Here at Modelinia, we spend a lot of time on Twitter. It’s the best way to get the news (both fashion and otherwise), as well as get to know your favorite models. As we’ve come to see in our own daily coverage of these talented catwalkers, today’s top models are slowly but surely taking the world by storm and the best part is, they’re taking their fans along for the ride.  From behind-the-scenes snapshots of your favorite fashion week shows, to their personal (and often hilarious) musings on the latest in pop culture, these social media savvy models rule supreme.  In today’s birthday treat, we’re celebrating the five model tweeters who always keep us coming back for more:

1. Chrissy Teigen: @chrissyteigen

The Sports Illustrated stunner is well-known for her hilarious Twitter repartee and playful, yet sometimes racy sense of humor, but if you ask us, it’s her fearless, no holds barred approach to social media that warrants the world’s attention.  Scroll through her feed and you’ll find Mrs. Legend sounding off on everything from her love of Taco Bell, to the latest in Bravo TV drama, rants about Linkedin and so much more!

NYFW Recap: 5 Things to Know About Day 7

Tube socks worn as dresses, designer debuts and supermodel tributes— these are the top 5 things you need to know about Day 7 of New York Fashion Week!

1. Hugo Boss Hits the Top Model Trifecta

It’s not every day that you get to see Stella Tennant, Saskia de Brauw and Edie Campbell, arguably three of the runway’s most established catwalkers, together in one room, and yet, so was the case backstage at today’s Hugo Boss show.  The androgynous beauties strut the runway in Jason Wu’s first show since being appointed artistic director of the brand, walking for a slew of notable attendees, including Gerard Butler, Diane Kruger, Reese Witherspoon, Gwyneth Paltrow and Benedict Cumberbatch.

Breaking: Mini Anden Returns to the Runway at Proenza Schouler

Just days after Alexander Wang sent runway icons Bridget Hall, Angela Lindvall and Jacquetta Wheeler down his Brooklyn runway, Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez staged a catwalk comeback of their own—casting supermodel/actress and new mom Mini Anden in their Fall 2014 show!

Returning to the runway just eight months after giving birth to her son Felix Shroeder, the supermodel mama stomped down the runway today as if not a day had passed since her last turn on the catwalk, now just over a decade ago.  While there may have been a time when a model’s career kicked into retirement mode as soon as news of a baby bump broke, Mini and the rest of today’s top model moms are proving once and for all that, challenging as it may be, with some clever scheduling tactics and drive, a woman can be both supermodel and supermama!

And’s Mini isn’t the only model pioneering the trend this season.  Since kicking off last Thursday, New York Fashion Week has seen the return of nearly a dozen hot mamas, all of whom have clearly mastered the art of juggling both a successful career and a beautiful family.  Frankie Rayder and Carolyn Murphy at Michael Kors, Caroline Trentini and Angela Lindvall at Wang— it’s never been more clear that yes ladies, you CAN have it all!

Party Pics: Miu Miu and Guess Fete NYFW Day 6

It’s Day 7 of New York Fashion Week and the models are still going strong!

Last night at the Diamond Horseshoe, Miu Miu hosted the NYC premiere of “Spark and Light,” the seventh original short film in its “Women’s Tales” series.  The film, directed by So Yong Kim and starring actress Riley Keough, brought out a star-studded crowd, including  Abbey Lee KershawMini Anden, Crystal Renn, Anais Mali, Anna Dello Russo, Alexa Chung and Solange Knowles among others.

Meanwhile at Center 548, GUESS celebrated their Fall 2014 Road to Nashville collection— a line which pays homage to the brand’s iconic American legacy— with an array of models, Hollywood stars and fashion week regulars.  Nicole Trunfio, Julie Henderson, Teresa Moore, Elena Foley and Sports Illustrated rookie Gigi Hadid, were spotted posing for photos on their way into the event, while Hailey Clauson was busy snapping some photos as part of her Instagram takeover for Modelinia!  Inside the party, DJ Atlanta De Cadenet Taylor set the mood with a few throwback 90′s tunes, while Kate Bosworth, Anna Kendrick and the rest of the A-list crowd sipped on Avion tequila drinks and enjoyed a live performance by the Cold War Kids.

Beauty Look: The Pixie Cut Makes a Comeback at Oscar de la Renta

It would be remiss not to honor the gorgeous ladies who originated this trendy look. In the late ’60s British model Twiggy got the iconic cut that’s a cross between a pixie and a bob that eventually became known as “the Twiggy.” However, Oscar de la Renta took that iconic look to a whole new leverl! Only Oscar de la Renta could make a grown-out pixie cut look cool, as exhibited by the designer’s Fall 2014 runway. From Karlie Kloss and Jourdan Dunn to Devon Windsor and Ming Xi— featured the girls wearing choppy, short wigs. Relvon Global Artistic Director, Gucci Westman opted for an eyes that was heavily made up in smoky copper eye and black shadow with a noir line defining the rims. Cheeks were dewy and slightly flushed with peach, while the lips were painted in Revlon’s Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Super Natural. We loved the the simple yet glamorous look complimenting the stunning and flawless Oscar de la Renta Fall/Winter ’14 collection. Read the rest of this entry »

She finishes off the look with a black leather Proenza Schouler bag and chain cross body bag (we need it!) Last, but certainly not least, we see a new street style look from our other model friend in a chunky, furry sweater, leather skirt with low-key backwards hat.
