Model Trend Report: White Handbags for Labor Day and Beyond!

It may still be hot and muggy outside, but there is at least one way to beat the heat this month— with sharp, white accessories.  Structured, ladylike handbags in various shades of white appear to be making a comeback in the final stretch of summer, popping up on the arms of fashion’s ‘it-girls’ near and far.  In L.A., Rosie Huntington-Whiteley topped off her casual all-white ensemble with the addition of a sleek white tote bag, while in New York City Miranda Kerr was a study in pre-fall neutrals, accenting her tonal look with a chic Nina Ricci satchel.  Meanwhile, Suki Waterhouse was spotted darting out of London’s Chiltern Firehouse carrying a miniature white shoulder bag, which gave contrast to her minimal LBD and retro newsboy cap.

As if we needed any more proof that Cara Delevingne is taking over the world (earlier this week she was named one of The World’s Highest-Paid Models of 2014, bringing home a whopping $3.5 million over the past year alone), her latest gig as the face of Tom Ford Black Orchid sees the 22-year-old Brit stripping down to just her birthday suit. NSFW indeed! ~ Beauty Counter

Jared Leto received a bit of unsolicited advice on Wednesday during his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.  ’I'd take the beard down a notch,’ Jimmy told the Oscar winning actor before taking matters into his own hands right then and there.  Whatever you do Jimmy, just don’t touch the hair! ~ Daily Mail

In case you missed it, on Wednesday Vogue’s Editor in Chief Anna Wintour graciously accepted her ALS #IceBucketChallenge nomination (courtesy of Gisele Bundchen), allowing several of her family members to pour buckets of ice-cold water all over her perfectly styled bob.  Our jaws are still on the floor! ~ Vogue

Interview Magazine Taps Three Model Muses for Its September Issue

While Vogue is paying tribute to the hottest models on Instagram for their September Issue, Interview Magazine is recognising some of the world’s most sought-after photographers— but don’t worry, there are still plenty of models featured too! The magazine tapped six well-known photographers, who chose women whom they felt represented beauty.  In the case of Mert & Marcus, Craig McDean and Mikael Jansson that meant Naomi Campbell, Amber Valletta and Daria Werbowy.

Of the six covers, Naomi is the only model shot in color, appearing in a Balmain ‘warrior princess’ type shoot, in which she can be seen posing in nothing but a thick gold choker and matching wrist bands.  Meanwhile Amber appears to channel old-school menswear in her black-and-white Man Ray-inspired shoot, while Daria goes completely makeup-free for her September close-up.

See all three model covers below and pick up the September issue of Interview when it hits newsstands this Thursday to read interviews with each of the photographers, conduced by their muses (with the exception of Mert and Marcus who were interviewed by Riccardo Tisci).

Kate Moss Turns Film Director for Vogue!

She’s appeared on 35 glossy covers for the magazine and in a countless number of its high-fashion editorials, but this month Kate Moss is teaming up with British Vogue like never before!

Marking her very first foray into filmmaking, Kate turns film director exclusively for Vogue‘s September issue, shooting fellow supermodel Lara Stone in a short video entitled “The Wolf in Her.”  Captured on Super 8 film, Kate’s directorial debut sees the beautiful Dutch model interacting with the same wolf-like dogs (referred to as British Lupines) that appeared in the original photoshoot captured by Mario Sorrenti.  The film features a behind the scenes look at Lara getting into poses on set as well as the final still imagery, which she also had a hand in styling.  To top it all off, Kate even provided the soundtrack to the film, choosing her husband Jamie Hince’s band, The Kills, to set the mood.

Watch Kate’s debut fashion film below and be sure to pick up a copy of the September Issue of British Vogue, now available on newsstands nationwide.
