Party Pics: Inside the Biggest Parties of New York Fashion Week Day 4

Turns out not even frigid winds and recording-breaking temperatures could keep the fashion crowd away from the party circuit on Sunday night. Thankfully they had one less stop to make as Prabal Gurung and Public School combined their after-party festivities at Queen of The Night at The Paramount Hotel. Newcomer ASTR performed on the venue’s neon-lit stage, while onlookers including Grace Mahary, Mia Moretti and Hannah Bronfman, danced into the early morning hours.

Meanwhile, Dom Perignon provided shelter from the cold at Gilded Lily for a party billed as, “LIGHTS OUT!” The evening, hosted by Carmelo Anthony, coincided with the NBA All-Star Game and thus, brought out a stellar mix of athletes, musicians and fashion influencers.  Among those sipping bubbly and occasionally posing with the dozens of Dom Perignon glow-in-the-dark bottles decorating the venue were models Tyson Beckford, Shanina Shaik and Jasmine Tookes,  designers Michelle Ochs and Carly Cushnie and even NBA legend Scottie Pippen.

Beauty How To: Kendall Jenner’s Seductive Smokey Eye at DVF

“The collection was inspired by seduction,” said Orlando Pita for TRESemmé backstage at DVF’s Fall 2015 show.  “The hair is more of the seductress at night when she pulls her hair back and does the smoky eye — it’s the seductress knot.” Using the Tresemmé Blow Dry Balm, Pita started by blow-drying the hair and putting his fingers through it.  He then secured the hair with an elastic and twisted it, letting pieces fall out as it was being pinned into a knot.  Once it was secured, Pita finished the look by spraying it with Perfectly Undone Hairspray — “We don’t want to make it too perfect,” he added.

As for the makeup, Pat McGrath kept with the seductress theme by focusing on a natural smokey eye.  She began with Max Factor’s Miracle Touch Foundation and used some gold shadow on the cheekbones to keep the skin looking fresh and radiant.  Then, she mixed Kohl black and brown eye pencils all around the eyes and layered them with the Smoky Eye Drama Kit in Sumptuous and the Excess Shimmer Eye Shadow in Onyx. The lashes were then topped off with Velvet Volume Mascara, while the lips were left bare, sand a touch of concealer and lip balm.  McGrath promises this look modern, glamorous and of course, seductive.

Modelinia AM Reads: How to Look Like a Model This New York Fashion Week

Saturday Night Live celebrated forty years on television last night with a star-studded, three-and-a-half-hour tribute featuring well, just about every major Hollywood star that you can think of.  Montages, musical guests, and endless surprise cameos were in store for fans of the late-night sketch comedy show. Here, relieve 13 of the anniversary special’s best moments — From Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake’s opening act to Eddie Murphy’s long-await return. ~ Vogue

Last month, H&M announced that it would be teaming up with California’s premiere music festival, Coachella, on a  line of clothing inspired by the festival’s niche fashion aesthetic, and today we have the first look.  Modeled by up-and-comer Aya Jones, the line includes plenty of denim cut-offs, fringe-adorned crop-tops and printed robes. ~ WWD

If you’ve been following the New York Fashion Week coverage on Twitter, you’ve likely spotted some of your favorite insiders using the hashtag #fashionflock throughout the week.  Come to find out, it’s hashtag is actually part of a new collaboration between Twitter and Mophie, who have teamed up with 50 influencers to share their experiences as part of an exclusive group.  Members of the program were also provided with the first customized juice pack cases for the iPhone 6, which, naturally, can now be purchased by using Twitter’s new “Buy Now” feature. ~ Fashionista

We’re nearly halfway through New York Fashion Week and though many artistic hairstyles have been unveiled backstage (at Tracy Reese, Cushnie et Ochs, and Mara Hoffman, to name a few), we couldn’t help but notice another low-key hair trend (or rather, anti-trend) taking center stage: welcome “naked” hair. Described as slightly disheveled, textured, with just the tiniest hint of wave, naked hair is the hair equivalent to makeup’s “I woke up like this” trend. ~ WhoWhatWear

Whether you fancy yourself a Cara or a Kendall, we’ve studied the models’ fashion week street style long enough to know that their signature off-duty looks are all built around a few key pieces, which makes mastering their style a surprisingly easy task. Here, we’ve broken down the models’ best look to help you  master the model off-duty look we all love and crave. ~ Modelinia
