Karlie Kloss Joins Jourdan in the Well Dunn Kitchen!

Jourdan Dunn promised us a very special second season of Well Dunn and she wasn’t kidding!  After whipping up a zesty prawn and veggie tempura dish with her British sidekick, Cara Delevingne, in the season two premiere, Jourdan is heading back into the kitchen this week with yet another gorgeous model pal, the one and only, Karlie Kloss!

The two model-chefs (a.k.a Jourlie), waste no time getting their hands dirty, starting first with Jourdan’s spicy vegetable curry dish, followed later by a lesson in Kookie baking with Karlie.  Of course, it’s the in between model banter and story swapping that really steals the show in this episode, although we’re sure the meal was delicious in its own right.  Similar to our own ‘girls night-in,’ Jourdan and Karlie go tit-for-tat over their accents and late-night cravings, or rather lack their of in Karlie’s case.  As Jourdan tells it:

“We were in Paris, and I think I got pizza because that was the only thing that was open.  Now, Ms. Kloss here, got spinach— at 3 o’clock in the morning. ”

“I had a craving,” adds Karlie.

Vegetables aside, we all know that Karlie is something of a bona fide sweet tooth, who has made it her mission to turn us all into her little Kookie monsters one batch at a time.  While showing Jourdan how its done, the St. Louis native is proud to note that her Karlie’s Kookies project with Momofuku Milk Bar has provided funding for 119,000 donated meals via the FEED Project since its launch during Fashion Week last September.

“Curry and Kookies, that’s what you’ve learned in the kitchen today with Ms. Dunn,” exclaims Karlie.

And it doesn’t get much better than that!  Watch Jourlie heat things up in the newest Well Dunn episode featured below:

Monday Night Was Party Night for Karlie Kloss, Jessica Stam and More!

Let’s face it, Monday’s don’t exactly scream ‘party-time.’ But that was exactly the case last night throughout New York City— for the models and fashion tastemakers anyways.  To start, there was the annual Robin Hood Benefit held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, which turned out to be more than just a meeting of the minds.  In honor of the foundation’s 25th anniversary, more than 4,200 A-listers coming from all corners of the fashion, music, business and entertainment industries flocked to the venue to help raise a reported $80 million and counting— 100 percent of which will go to fighting poverty in New York.  Top models Karlie Kloss, Elettra Wiedemann, Dominique Piek and Alyssa Miller enjoyed performances by Mary J. Blige, Justin Timberlake, Elton John, Bono and Jerry Seinfeld, while Uma Thurman, Jessica Biel and Sting were spotted chatting among the crowds of financial types.

Over at the High Line, models Lily Donaldson, Dorothea Barth Jorgensen, Alana Bunte and Tatiana Cotliar joined Chloe Sevigny and Johan Lindeberg, creative director of BLKDNM and newly appointed creative director of Absolut Elyx, in celebrating the launch of Absolut’s new luxury vodka and Integrity campaign fronted by Sevigny.  The stylish downtown bunch enjoyed premium Elyx cocktails served by the city’s top bartenders from PDT, ACME and The Nomad Hotel, as Dj Brendan Fallis held court from behind the booth.

Further Uptown at The Metropolitan Opera House at Lincoln Center, The American Ballet Theatre hosted its annual spring gala, presenting a one-time performance showcasing its upcoming season.  With Dior serving as the evening’s official sponsor, there was certainly no shortage of Hollywood stars, budding artists and young models strolling the red carpet.  Jessica Stam was spotted flaunting a lovely white shirt dress and bright berry lip, while Coco Rocha was busy turning heads in a breathtaking strapless blush tone gown.  Inside the venue, Chanel Iman and Anne V also stopped to pose for photographers, as did Alek Wek, whose looked ballerina-ready in her leggy ensemble.

And to think, it was only Monday! See more of last night’s model out and about in our slideshow below:

Karlie Kloss’s Long Legs Inspire Her First Design Collaboration!

If you’ve ever struggled to find pants long enough to cover your enviable stems, then you can understand Karlie Kloss‘s frustration.  Although she’s easily one of fashion’s best-dressed stars, Karlie admits that when it comes to finding well-fitting, flattering jeans, she hasn’t had the easiest go at it.  It was out of pure necessity then that she’s made her first move into fashion design, creating a capsule collection for FRAME Denim that looks to cater to those other “freakishly tall” beings like herself walking the streets in less than appropriate hemmed jeans.

Set to launch this June, Karlie’s line of FRAME Denim Forever Karlie denim consists of two excessively long jean styles— flared and skinny in both light and dark washes— each with 40 inch inseams.  “I’m freakishly tall, so finding pants that fit is something I’ve struggled with my whole life,” says the six-foot-one model in a recent Vogue interview. “My secret to pulling off too-short jeans has always been to pair them with boots . . . and I really rocked the flood-pant trend for as long as I could!”

“It wasn’t until I started modeling at fifteen that I even realized what well-fitting clothes felt like,” adds Karlie, who first walked for Calvin Klein in September 2007. “I’m by no means a qualified designer, but through work I’ve learned how clothing should fit and ultimately, how it should feel,”

And just what exactly constitutes a perfect fit? Well, in Karlie’s expert opinion, “there’s nothing worse than a pair of jeans that leave you feeling exposed when you bend down!” It’s for that reason that the towering beauty made sure to not only elongate her jeans, but to also add a raised waistband for proper coverage.

The collection – priced at $209 and $219 – can be found at Barney’s New York, Net-A-Porter, Ron Herman and Jeffrey starting the first week of June.  Let’s hope Karlie-approved tees and accessories are soon to follow!

Naomi Campbell, Erin O’Connor and Caroline Winberg Join Forces for The Face UK!

When Naomi Campbell joined forces with supermodels Karolina Kurkova and Coco Rocha for Oxygen’s hit modeling competition series The Face last February, we didn’t think things could get much better— we believe the phrase “dream team” was used at one point.  So, when we first heard that Naomi was taking her hit series over to the UK minus her two supermodel sidekicks, we’ll admit we were a bit upset to see them go.  Thankfully, our disappointment didn’t have to end long, as Naomi has reportedly found her two UK replacements and trust us when we say, these two ladies are more than worthy of the challenge!

According to the latest reports, supermodels Erin O’Connor and Caroline Winberg have been confirmed as the show’s other two mentors, who will go head-to-head with London native Naomi in a competition of supermodel strengths!

“I have worked with both models internationally and they truly understand what’s necessary to make it in the modelling industry,” said Naomi of her new cast mates. “It’s going to be a really inspiring journey and as executive producer on the show, I truly believe we will find the face.”

As do we, Naomi!  Aside from being incredibly gorgeous, both Erin and Caroline are known for their rather impressive modeling resumes including, major ad campaigns and catwalk credits.  Although retired from the catwalk these days, Erin has famously walked the runway for such top designers as Jean Paul Gaultier and Christian Dior, as well as several campaigns for Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana.  Then of course, there’s Caroline, who rose to fame as a former Victoria’s Secret model and since then, has earned campaigns for the likes of Valentino, Versace and Alexander McQueen.  Clearly, the British model hopefuls will be in good hands!

“I’m thrilled to be joining the line-up of The Face,” said Erin of hew new gig.  “Naomi is a huge inspiration, so to be working with her on this project is an enormous privilege. Caroline is one of the modeling world’s most exciting new talents so to have her expertise on board is also a huge bonus – I can’t wait to get started.”

Like the US show, the show’s British offering, which will be aired on the Sky Living network, will see aspiring young models compete over the course of eight weeks for the chance of becoming the face of a major brand.  Needless to say, with Naomi, Erin and Caroline on board, we’re in for a real treat in the UK this season!
