Karl Lagerfeld is pulling out at all the stops for Chanel’s upcoming Métiers d’Art extravaganza in Salzburg, Austria. So much so in fact, that he’s enlisted aspiring actress Cara Delevingne and music sensation Pharrell Williams to duet on an original song, “CC the World,” featured here in a new Sound of Music-esque teaser video to promote next Tuesday’s show.
Shot by Lagerfeld himself, the short video entitled,”Reincarnation,” tells the story of how the Chanel jacket was born beginning with Gabrielle Chanel’s trip to Salzburg in 1954. As the story unfolds, the designer fell for a jacket worn by a hotel elevator operator — played in the video by Williams— which would later inspire her iconic design. According to WWD, Cara and Williams play a reincarnated Austrian emperor and empress, who come alive from a painting in a dream sequence. It is said that the two will also be the faces of the collection’s campaign, also shot by Lagerfeld, but of course.
The full video will be unveiled the night before the big 2014/15 Métiers d’Art collection on December 1, but you can check out the official teaser in the video below!
