Cara Delevingne Turns Mary Poppins for Burberry Shanghai

Cara Delevingne has mastered walking, dancing and even taking selfies on the runway, so what’s next for the model who can apparently do it all? Flying, of course!

Joining her Burberry family for a night of music and fashion marking the opening of their new Shanghai flagship on Thursday, Cara channeled her inner Mary Poppins and closed the show with a high-flying performance.  After taking her turn on the catwalk alongside fellow Burberry beauties Suki Waterhouse, Malaika Firth, and Matilda Lowther, Cara magically took to the air with her Burberry umbrella in hand, and flew out over the audience as confetti fell from above.

The evening was divided into sections with a performance by George Ezra and dancing Burberry check umbrellas, leading up to the recreation of the Autumn Winter 2014 runway show. As with the show in London, Paloma Faith performed while the models stormed the runway in their personalized scarves.

Prior to hitting the runway, Cara and co. took to the red carpet in coordinating looks pulled straight from the runway.  Cara wore a Burberry Prorsum shirt (only buttoned at the top) and a black lace pencil skirt, while Suki opted for the brand’s black lace navel-grazing dress. As for the rest of the Burberry girls, model Malaika Firth wore a gold Burberry Prorsum cocktail dress with a plunging neckline, Matilda Lowther opted for a slinky LBD, and Chinese model Du Juan stunned in a gem-embellished jacket and matching pink pencil skirt.

Watch Cara soar above the runway in the video above, and see more from the Burberry Shanghai event below:

Supermodels Unite With Vogue and Born Free!

Here’s a brilliant way to spend your tax refund check: today Vogue and online retailer Shopbop unveiled an exclusive — and moderately priced (!) —  collection of pieces for mother and children created by the crème de la crème of the fashion industry.  But don’t be fooled, this isn’t your ordinary big name capsule collection.  Teaming up with the global initiative, Born Free, Anna Wintour, Vogue, Diane von Furstenberg, and a few dozen other industry superstars have joined together to create a 40+ piece limited edition apparel and accessories collection that aims to end mother-to-child HIV transmission at birth by December 31, 2015.

The Collection, based on the work of the celebrated Kenyan-born, New York-based visual artist Wangechi Mutu, features a range of mommy-and-me pieces designed by 23 leading fashion designers— all of whom are mothers themselves— including Victoria Beckham, Miuccia Prada, Isabel Marant, Stella Phoebe Philo (Celine), as well as supermodel-turned-designers Gisele Bündchen and Liya Kebede.  Each item in the range— which includes a Céline tote matching mother-daughter dresses, baby blankets and lightweight scarves— is priced under $250 with 100% of the proceeds going to Born Free.

Cara Delevingne Gushes About Her Love of Kate Moss and Topshop!

As the fashion world prepares for the long-awaited arrival of the Kate Moss for Topshop collection (arriving April 30, not that we’re counting), the high street retailer has created a series of eight short films with Nowness, in which such recognizable faces as designer Vivienne Westwood and makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury talk about Kate’s influence as a supermodel and a style icon.

In the latest video from the series, Topshop caught up with fellow British model Cara Delevingne, who shares just how much Kate influenced her while growing up.  ”I was such a tomboy, but Kate Moss, I just knew exactly who she was—she was the face, she was the icon,” gushes Cara as she draws a lipstick heart on a mirror.

“Everyone just wanted to dress like Kate, and she kind of brought that to the [Topshop] collection, made everyone be able to have that style that she has, which is just incredible,” she adds.

In true Cara fashion, the Burberry model bounces a tennis ball, makes funny faces, and demonstrates a proper somersault while talking about the super and the new collection: ”It’s just perfect, it’s a London brand, a London girl—THE London girl—coming together.”

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves, Cara!  Watch the candid video below, and pre-order your favorite Kate Moss for Topshop pieces now on ShopBAZAAR before the collection hits the shelves on April 30!
