What was once a mere rumor, is now a full-fledged cover realty!
According to Refinery 29, it is now officially confirmed that Kate Mosswill star on the cover of Playboy magazine’s 60th anniversary issue said to hit newsstands in January 2014! The news was revealed in a discussion between the site and the supermodel’s own hairstylist, Oribe, backstage at his La Fama hair show on Sunday. Seeing as how the celebrity hair guru was tending to Kate’s lovely locks on the set of the shoot, we’d say the information is coming from a fairly reliable source.
As for the cover, there’s no word yet on just how racy the shots will be, although we’d say that it’s safe to assume that Kate won’t be holding anything back for the milestone spread. After all, if there is one thing that Kate is definitely not afraid of, it’s stripping down for the masses. Of course, we’ll keep you posted as this story develops. Until then, here’s a look at some of the legendary model’s most memorable magazine covers over the years!
When Kate Upton scored her second Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover in February, she marked the occasion with a week-long trip to Vegas joined by nearly a dozen of the world’s most-beautiful women. So when the cover girl celebrated her 21st birthday yesterday, we’ll admit, we half expected to see Kate dancing the night away in one of the world’s most exclusive clubs, or sipping champagne on board a private jet on her way to some far-off island. Either way, we certainly weren’t expecting to see this from the supermodel!
Believe it or not, the newly minted Vogue superstar feted the milestone event with her uncle, GOP Rep. Fred Upton of Michigan and GOP Whip Kevin McCarthy, turning the big birthday bash into a buttoned up day at the Capitol. While the Senators aren’t exactly the type of stylish gentlemen that we imagined to find on Kate’s lovely arm yesterday, the party animals were all smiles as they posed together for a picture later posted to McCarthy’s Instagram page.
“With Congressman Fred Upton and his niece, Kate. We are celebrating Kate’s 21st Birthday #kateupton,” McCarthy wrote in the caption.
We can only imagine what the photo has done for the Senators’ popularity around Capitol Hill today. After all, no man, not even a Congressman, is immune to the impossible beauty that is Kate Upton!
No one can deny the do-it-all power and straight-up sex-appeal of a shredded-up jean short. From Daisy Dukes to Never-Nudes we all love our ‘jorts’! While denim duds will always be our summertime staple, they’re not exactly elevating our style-game. Lucky for us, there are so many different styles of shorts out there to choose from. Here, we’re introducing some of our favorite new styles of shorts, from drawstring to knee-length, that may just be your new standby. While it would certainly be nice to have a separate short for every occasion, many of these stunners do double-duty. Take Topshop’s white tailored culottes for example, not only are they flow-y and comfortable, they’re more than modest and are therefore perfectly suitable for work. If you’re feeling saucy, pair the high-waisted bottoms with a crop-top and some wavy locks for a sexy second date look. Weekends were made for drawstring shorts. They’re so forgiving and after just an hour in these stretch-wonders, you will understand exactly why we want to be living in these all summer long. Whether you’re heading to the office or hitting the beach these shorts will work for you!
It was going to take a lot more than a summer shower to dampen the mood at Stella McCartney’s Resort ’14 presentation in New York City last night. Although the rain attempted to disrupt the Brit designer’s English-style garden party, McCartney partied on, making the best of the fashion celebration with a little help from her A-list fashion supporters— and boy, what a glitzy turn out it was!
While lending their stylish support to designer, catwalkers Helena Christensen, Jessica Stam and Frankie Rayder joined the star-studded crowd— Cameron Diaz, Madonna and Naomi Watts among others— under the enclosed tent where they were able to peruse the polished, sporty wares being modeled by the likes of Hanne Gaby Odiele, Nadja Bender and Tilda Lindstam. As it happened, the models were split into two ultra-glam packs: the daywear crew who held court around a record player spinning ’70s tunes; and the eveningwear stunners who toasted the affair with champagne and smiles— a winning combination!
As far as the Resort collection goes, the mood was light and full of springtime girlshness, albeit impossibly chic from start to finish. The focus was on python-embossed jacquard coats and dresses, while lip, heart and matchstick motifs added a whimsical flair to tailored shift dresses. In terms of the color palette, the daywear offerings remained soft, coming in various shades of pale pink, yellow and beige, whereas the eveningwear pieces turned monochromatic, offering body-contouring black, white and navy designs to mini-dresses. On the accessories front, the standouts included ballerina flats in blush and silver tones, extreme raffia platform espadrilles and a new slouchy backpack variation of the fan-favorite Beckett bag— a guaranteed ‘must-have!’

With all due respect to Lebron James, the most satisfying part about the NBA Finals has to be the supermodel stunners and A-list starlets sitting on the sidelines. These ladies have made the courtside their own personal runway, snagging the attention of the Jumbo Tron with their array of outfits that are the perfect mix of moxie and team spirit. Don’t get us wrong, we love showing our team spirit— dressing in a jersey, sneakers and face paint— but we’ve realized that being a spectator is about much more than looking like a mascot. Just look at the supermodels who have mastered the art of sitting pretty from coast to coast.
In honor of the NBA Finals going on now between the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs, we caught up with Damaris Lewis whose winning sideline fashion and basketball spirit has us raving! Find out about her favorite courtside fashion looks while she cheers on the Miami Heat in our exclusive interview below:
D: I am all about the Isabel Marant Sneaker heel ever since fellow model Jessica Gomes introduced me to them a few years ago. Dressing up for a sporting event isn’t necessary, but if I do, I like to keep it as simple as possible.
These days, we’ve grown accustomed to seeing Dree Hemingwaylight up the big screen with her mega-watt beauty and turn heads on the red carpet, as she continues to dedicate herself to her blossoming Hollywood career. So imagine our delight when we learned that the screen siren had taken a break from the set of her latest film X/Y, to return to the pages of Vogue magazine this month to star in a special editorial tribute to her great-grandfather, Ernest Hemingway!
With a cast that includes actors Jason Clarke and Theo James, the model-turned-actress set off on a laid-back Boca Grande getaway, where she reimagined the care-free Floridian style of her great-grandfather, playing the part of his third wife, celebrated war correspondent, Martha Gellhorn. Armed with an arsenal of gingham prints and breezy poolside separates, Dree looks every bit the playful, statuesque beauty of her family’s past, all the while paying homage to such iconic moments as the arrival of the bikini and the reemergence of the oh-so-feminine silk slip— the soon-to-be center-piece of our glammed up Fall ’13 wardrobe. Shot by famed photographer Bruce Weber, Dree appears every bit as free-spirited and adventurous of her family’s ‘Lost Generation’ days, albeit never loosing an ounce of her modern Cali-cool charm. Like a scene ripped out of the pages of Hemignway’s greatest works, Dree’s editorial work is as much fun to flip through as we can only assume it was to shoot. Below, we’ve selected a few of our favorite images from Dree’s latest glossy work, but you can head over to Vogue.com to see full cinematic spread.
