It’s a Dunn Deal – Jourdan Dunn to Launch a Children’s Collection

Models spend so much time trying on and testing out clothing that it only makes sense that they often branch out into other aspects of the fashion industry, namely design.  Following in the footsteps of such model hyphenates as Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne and Karlie Kloss, the latest model-turned-designer is Jourdan Dunn— the British-born supermodel and mother-of-one who’s captivated the industry with her unique combination of sex appeal and cool-girl insouciance— who just signed a deal to create her first signature collection.  But unlike her fellow catwalkers, who have collaborated with Topshop, Mulberry and Frame Denim respectively, Jourdan has got her sights set on childrenswear.

It looks like Lucky‘s not the only magazine embracing the Internet’s most successful style bloggers these days. Hot on the heels of the glossy’s blogger-fronted February issue, Vogue Spain has tapped Chiara Ferragni as its April 2015 cover girl.  Ferragni, also known as The Blonde Salad, was photographed by Nico Bustos in furs alongside three Afghan hounds.  This makes her the first blogger ever to cover an edition of Vogue. ~ The Blonde Salad

In the latest update to the ongoing feud between the designers of Dolce & Gabbana and Elton John over the topic of “traditional families” and IVF — an argument that saw John demanding a widespread boycott against all Dolce & Gabbana products— the singer was photographed in Los Angeles carrying, of all things, a Dolce & Gabbana shopping bag.  We’re don’t about you, but we’re utterly confused. ~ Daily Mail

Karlie Kloss Talks About the Downsides of Social Media at SXSW

You might think that Karlie Kloss is the consummate social media fangirl – she was on Vogue magazine’s famous Instagirls cover, after all – but as it turns out, the supermodel isn’t entirely gung ho about the Internet’s growing presence within the fashion industry.

“I do think there is something special that has been lost a little bit—that is, simply being present, without the distraction of being the first one to immediately tweet what the nail color is backstage at Calvin Klein, as opposed to just being there in the moment,” the supermodel said Saturday at a SXSW talk called “How Technology Colonised Fashion Week” (via Dazed). “I think that’s the case, not just for me as a model, but the audience. All the editors are taking pictures and sharing that. There’s good and bad to it.”

The Model-Approved Bag You Need to Add to Your Spring Wish List STAT

Great news: the backpack is chic again! Who knew? Well, actually the models knew. For the past couple of seasons models like Cara Delevingne, Tilda Lindstam and Liu Wen have been hitting the streets at fashion week with various styles of the elementary school essential slung over their shoulders—  a trend that doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. But while seasons past have seen a wide range of colors and styles, this season’s model proponents seem to be sticking to one rucksack in particular: Derek Lam’s 10 Crosby Mercer Back Pack.  The hand-free accessory was seemingly everywhere this season, popping up on the backs of such street-style favorites as Alana Zimmer, Hollie May Saker and Maartje Verhoef.  With festival season kicking into high gear in the coming weeks, we wouldn’t mind adding this chic carryall to our packing wish list. After all, if there’s one thing we love more than a model-approved accessory, it’s a practical one at that.

Held at the legendary Annabel’s nightclub, the dinner-cum-Parisian-style-dance-party saw Rousteing holding court over his usual gaggle of beautiful women— Jourdan Dunn, Lily Donaldson, Poppy Delevingne, Sigail Currie and Edie Campbell included.
