Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld has proven his power to draw a crowd. Gisele Bündchen, Milla Jovovich, Erin Wasson, Mario Testino, Suzy Menkes, Mary-Kate Olsen, and Julia Restoin-Roitfeld all trekked to Collective Hardware on the Bowery in New York to take in a photography exhibit he artfully curated.
Vladimir teamed up with three of his friends, David Mushegain, Salim Langatta, and PC Valmorbida, to show their images at the Louis Vuitton-sponsored event. “I got to do a show with three of my best friends, so it’s an amazing experience,” Vladimir said. PC approved of his selection, saying, “I couldn’t have asked for anything better. He was so great to work with. It’s really diverse, some of them are really random, but I was really happy with it.” The pair met three years ago, but PC wouldn’t share any memories, joking, “There are a lot of bad ones! I can’t share.”
There were the early appearances and late arrivals as the party raged on for four hours. Proud mother Carine Roitfeld, editor of French Vogue, came to support her son, posing with Mario Testino and Vladimir. Alexander Wang and Zoe Kravitz popped in for a hot second, saying hello, giving hugs, and then heading out for a late dinner. Natalia Vodianova and Hana Soukupova showed up with hubbies in tow, and Hana showed off her new darker hues. Is this the season for hair changes?
Obviously art was the topic of conversation, and Hilary Rhoda discussed her collection, saying, “My mom got me these really cool clay things that were molded on bodies and then framed. They kind of stick out from the wall. That’s the only art I have in my apartment.” Lily Donaldson, on the other hand, was considering a new purchase, saying, “I love them all! I want to get one and I’m having a very hard time choosing.” Congrats on your purchase, Lily, as a portion of the proceeds went to amfAR!
