As soon as Modelinia walked backstage at Peter Som this afternoon, we were struck by the purpleness of it all. From the collection to the models’ lips, Peter was really feeling the color.
Thankfully, so were his models, and Meghan Collison fell in love with the darker hue. “I think the makeup’s pretty awesome,” she said. “I like the dark lip.” It did pair well with her dark hair, we must say. It also paired well with the dangerous-looking studs she was wearing as earrings, which were a lighter purple. “My friend gave them to me. They’re tapers. She didn’t need them anymore because she stretched her ears really big so they didn’t fit.” Meghan has really lucked out on the gifts recently, as she not only scored her friend’s ridic new earrings, but Richard Chai also bequeathed the boots in his show to the models as a thank you gesture.
Post-obsessing over the lips with Meghan, Modelinia found Lisanne De Jong, looking perfectly calm despite her task of opening the show. “It’s really an honor to open a show,” she said. “I’m really excited. I did the fitting and casting and that’s where I met Peter. He’s really nice. I found out at the fitting—I have look No. 1! It’s an amazing outfit with a lot of fur. I’m looking forward to the whole Paris, Milan, London. It’s going to be crazy, but fun. I’m going to just try to enjoy it as much as possible and try to not get stressed.”
Once the show started, Lisanne took her place, looking like a pro, followed quickly by Tao Okamoto, in a sparkly purple top that continued the color trend, as well as Ginta Lapina, Alana Zimmer, Sedene Blake, and Imogen Morris Clarke who closed the show. ~ Bianca Posterli
