Before the weekend began, Modelinia stopped into the Matthew Williamson/Belvedere pop-up store, where Sessilee Lopez and Alek Wek were celebrating the designer’s collaboration at Bevy Smith’s “In the Pink” dinner. Fresh off her runway appearance on Wall Street for Express, Alek admitted that she felt a few butterflies before hitting the stage in front of bankers and tourists. “I was actually nervous even though I’ve been doing this for a few years,” she admitted. Finance boys are more intimidating than fashion editors it seems!
Meanwhile, Sessilee admitted she’s been busier than usual as of late - because she’s been spending her spare time taking acting classes! Though we won’t be seeing her on the big screen just yet, don’t rule it out: Sessilee’s waiting for the right role.
Downtown in Tribeca, Wallpaper held their Born in Brazil celebration at Espasso to launch the newest issue, starring cover girl Ana Beatriz Barros. And Brazilian models galore arrived to support their friend and fellow model, including Alessandra Ambrosio, Fernanda Motta, as well as honorary Brazilian for the night, Irina Shayk, but after a quick circle around the party, the girls headed to late dinner at Mr. Chow.
