For the next few days, Modelinia is proud to present guest blogger, Rachel Khona, a model booker at Q Models, who will be reporting on her current scouting experience in Poland! Stay tuned as she shares her findings and details about the experience.
It’s me, Rachel, on my way to Poznan after three busy days in Warsaw! Contrary to what I previously thought, Warsaw is a surprisingly modern city. Cute boutiques, coffee shops, and trendy restaurants abound. In fact I was lucky enough to be taken out on the town by Lisa Marie from Elite/Mango and Tomek of 23 Management to some of the city’s trendiest spots, Papaya and Sense. Sushi, wine, and a night time tour of Warsaw can’t be beat!

Of course in the morning, it’s always back to business. During the three days I was in Warsaw, I visited twelve agencies and had two hotel castings. Often when scouting, it’s hard to meet all the potential models during the day (when I meet their agencies) because everyone is in school. So I usually arrange for the models to meet me at my hotel. Thankfully the hotel lobby was quiet, so I managed to take pictures and chitchat without making too much of a ruckus. I once had a 20 person deep line at hotel restaurant in Portland. Awkward!
I was starting to feel pooped, but I saw so many gorgeous new faces that it made it all worth my while. Of course we can’t take all of the models, so once I get to my hotel in Poznan tonight, I’ll do my best to sort through all my digitals and comp cards to determine which ones are best for Q. I can’t wait to show my final picks to the board in New York!
Anyway I’m off to catch my plane to Poznan!
xoxo,
Rachel
