Ralph Lauren took us into the world of The Great Gatsby in his Spring 2012 collection. Slinky, body-skimming satin dresses were draped on a classically stunning model show list with standouts like Charlotte di Calypso, Magdalena Frackowiak, Karlie Kloss and Jacquelyn Jablonski, each working the billowy fabric as they glided down the runway.
Never failing to produce elegant collections season after season, Ralph Lauren’s Spring line is one fit for the likes of Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly. Oozing sophistication, glamour, and a touch of seduction, this is a collection equally as destined for a woman’s wardrobe as it is for those breathtaking red carpet moments.
A woman carries an undeniable sense of charisma and a certain spark when she feels good in what she’s wearing, and that little spark was all over the designer’s runway yesterday. Karlie Kloss who always works the clothes when she walks the catwalk had a certain extra pop in her step that was particularly apparent when she appeared wearing a soft pink gown with beaded and feather details. The same went for some of the more newer models like Kristina Romanova who looked as if she were born to wear the satin white look she wore towards the end of the show.
By the time Ralph Lauren took his bow we were completely smitten with the entire collection and are thus not surprised that the designer received a standing ovation.
