Flare magazine recently paired an interesting trio of models - Tiiu Kuik, Arlenis Sosa, and Irina Lazareanu - for the cover of the January 2011 issue. While Tiiu’s been on the runway for 10 years and Irina has transitioned her role as model into designer, Arlenis is a newer face in the industry, having just begun her career around two years ago.
Though at first glance, the combination is slightly obscure, once you delve into the editorials, an interesting parallel forms. Each model has distinct ideas about her future. Irina’s already moved into the world of fashion design with her line, Rini by Irina, but she’s not finished yet. She’s scored a role in Spike Lee’s new film meaning her position as a triple threat is almost complete. As for Tiiu, her diary serves as inspiration to write a book in the near future, and Arlenis has dreams of opening a restaurant or hotel in her hometown, while still supporting the foundation she started.
