Few entertainers have managed to achieve the worldwide fame that Michael Jackson earned. Since his musical debut at the tender age of 11 in the Jackson 5 to his solo career that produced some of the world’s best-selling albums and most memorable music videos, Michael Jackson’s domination of pop music is undisputed. His creativity spanned beyond music to influence pop culture, fashion, and thousands of artists to come after him.
In tribute, Modelinia would like to take a moment to admire his work by highlighting two videos in particular. First up is “In the Closet,” which starred Naomi Campbell dressed in a gorgeous white outfit. To add to the massive industry power, iconic photographer Herb Ritts directed it.
Then there’s “Remember the Time,” where Iman played an Egyptian queen wearing a stunning headdress on her throne, where of course the supermodel belongs. “I’m bored. I want to be entertained,” she says. And surely Michael delivered with his amazing dancing skills, appearing in a sandstorm of gold. Michael steals Iman away from her Pharaoh, because, really, who wouldn’t want to be with the King of Pop?
As a legend and icon in the industry, his music and creativity will live on.
