Rodarte is one of the most exclusive shows at New York Fashion Week, so naturally the showlist of runway models is bound to impressive. And impressive it was, with top strutters Arizona Muse, Jourdan Dunn, Lindsey Wixson, Frida Gustavsson, Kasia Struss, Liu Wen, and Mirte Maas all walking the show.
The Mulleavy sisters are known for their outlandish, almost costumey collections that seem like a challenge to bring into everyday wear; but this season the sisters put forth a line that was 100% street ready and will most certainly be seen on the pavements this time next year. With the Australian Outback as their inspiration, everything from shearling bomber jackets to tailored trousers to colorful skirt suits stepped out onto the runway lined with A-listers Dakota Fanning, George Lucas, and Natalie Portman. The shoes were also a hit featuring colorful sand filled plexiglass heels that can’t have been easy to walk in, but of course these pro models would never let us know that.
