Runway Recap: Versace Threw a 70's Disco Party and All the Models Were Invited!

Leave it to Versace to make classic “hippie” attire red carpet ready!  The storied design house presented its Spring 2013 show in Milan earlier today, treating Fashion Week attendees to a glitzy, ’70s disco party that was full of eye-popping color and famous model faces.  Runway stars Anna Selezneva (the show’s opener), Kasia Struss, Lindsey Wixson, Jacquelyn Jablonski, Kinga Rajzak, and Daria Strokous started the show in a series of matching lace shorts and crop tops, mini dresses, and sleek leather blazers.  Staying true to her brand’s boundary-pushing history, Donatella made sure to amplify the sex appeal of the collection with hints of peekaboo lingerie lace and thigh grazing hemlines. The flowy, long sleeved dresses also came in soft blue tie-dye prints that, when paired with the collection’s metallic fringe, made reference to a retro Janis Joplin look. Some of the most note worthy aspects of the show however, came in the form of leather harness details and knee-high caged leather boots that, like the apparel itself, flashed just the right amount of skin. Now, if we could just figure out what we did with our disco ball…
