Runway Report: Matador Madness at Ralph Lauren

Ole!  For his Spring Collection, Ralph Lauren went with a Latin theme this season with fringe, boleros, Flamenco hats, serapes, and suede!  The music was dramatic and fiery and so were the clothes.  The King of Americana took a trip outside the country this time and filled his catwalk with some of the very best girls!

New Victoria’s Secret Angel, Toni Garrn, opened the show in a turquoise suede blouse that was accessoried with long beaded necklaces, earrings and a black beret reminisent of the Olympics.  Following suit were models Karlie Kloss,  Joan Smalls, Ralph Lauren campaign girl and muse Valentina Zalyaeva, Frida GustavssonMaryna LinchukHilary Rhoda, and Constance Jablonski to name a few.  A certain highlight was when Miss. Kloss took out a fabulous lace fan at the end of the runway.

Red, black, turquoise and white were the choice colors on the runway with shocks of gold embrodery, a few floral and striped numbers and even a bright amethyst suit.  As usual, Ralph balanced dramatics with simple elegance.  Mixed in with organza boleros and rainbow striped serapes were black jersey cocktail dresses and ivory straight-length gowns.  We love both notes, the theatrical and the understated.  It was as if he pulled off an evening look for every type of woman.
