Rachel Roy
At the Rachel Roy presentation today, bright colors, tropical prints and bold basics were styled to perfection and rocked by a slew of young models who actually looked like they were having fun. It might have something to do with the emphasis on ease and wearability found in the spring collection. Flowing maxi dresses in batik-like prints, colorful shorts and billowy blouses topped with tailored blazers and cardigans make for looks that were perfectly balanced between work and play. Whether the looks are for a meeting or a trip to the beach, Rachel Roy’s lineup was replete with clothes you could live in.

Naeem Khan
Designer Naeem Khan was inspired by the beauty of the world’s natural elements for his well-received Spring 2013 collection presented earlier this afternoon. The focus was on the intricate, geometric patterns found in Moroccan artworks, and the floral imagery found in a far away garden. Black and white rose prints and mosaic leather separates gave way to blue wave print cocktail dresses, nude floral beaded gowns, and coral caftans with metallic beading. The highly embellished looks were otherworldly for sure, but also completely wearable for day or night.
