A tenth birthday calls for supreme celebration.
So for Sass & Bide’s anniversary, the pair decided to call on a few friends for inspiration. Who were those friends? Models Kate Moss and Twiggy were asked, among others, to design their own perception of the word shine.
Back in April, the works were on display during Australia Fashion Week, but were finally shown to the world in the June ‘09 issue of Vogue Australia. Each piece will be auctioned off; the bidding has begun online at www.sassandbide.com, and will culminate at an event in London at the Dairy on July 23. All of the proceeds will go to Barnardos U.K. and Australia to provide help for workshops for abused children.
“We are so excited to be back in London for our Shine project,” said designers Sarah Jane Clark and Heidi Middleton. “London is where our label was born so to be back here celebrating 10 years, exhibiting the works of 10 special friends for a cause that is so close to our hearts, it’s a really wonderful feeling. Each child we help will also receive a grant to pursue a dream.”
