As soon as we walked into the backstage of Preen and saw Ajak Deng’s smiling face, we knew it would be a good day.
Always a show to anticipate, Preen designers Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi provided fashion with a collection that joyfully played with fabrics, the idea of length, and detailing. After hearing all about the days in Ajak’s life before she became a model (more on that in video form that later) we ran into Kirsi Pyrhonen, Liu Wen, and Bo Don backstage, prepping for their Preen walks. Fresh off of our sneak peek, we anxiously waited on Arizona Muse’s opening moment, followed by a cast that would make any model fanatic pleased. With instructions to walk like a pioneer, as the modern and intelligent women that they are, Aline Weber, Suvi Koponen, and Herieth Paul took the Preen runway by storm. And after the surprising hair alterations at Alexander Wang, we were highly interested to see if Britt Maren would alter her locks back to their platinum state. But as soon as she strutted out on the Preen runway at Milk, we saw the brunette look was back. ~ Bianca Posterli
