It’s one thing to read a roundtable discussion between great models, but it’s quite another to watch a video of behind-the-scenes action. Vogue turned their article from the May 2009 issue into a short clip, with some quotes that may sound familiar and others you haven’t heard yet. We just adore that Karlie Kloss looks at Iman with such honor, as if she’s sitting in class listening to the greatest professor.
In the clip, there’s the discussion of age, where Paulina Porizkova and Lauren Hutton talk about the need for a limit; the chat about each and every body part being criticized, where Caroline Trentini admits she’s still working on her confidence; and Iman’s favorite memory of modeling: “My favorite time when I was a muse for Yves Saint Laurent,” she said. “He asked me to be the muse for the couture collection he called the ‘African Queen.’ It was the most incredible experience to see how a genius works.”
