In Modelinia-land, it’s a well-known fact that Sophie Théallet and Veronica Webb are good friends.
So when we chatted with her while waiting to see the designs that Christian Siriano would send down then runway, it wasn’t surprising to hear that Veronica was planning on being front and center to support her friend during one of her big moments. After all the success Sophie has had in the past year with Ikram outfitting Michelle Obama in her design, it’s safe to say she’s a designer to watch. She even caused quite the controversy when her line debuted on the runway for the Spring 2009 collections in an all-black model casting, though as a designer she said her choice wasn’t a political statement: It was about how the colors of her clothes looked on the girls.
But it’s always nice to see a designer recognize their models. And right in the show credits was a personal thanks to Veronica. Sophie knows how to please her models and supporters.
