Hot off her CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund win, Sophie Théallet delivered a dream collection straight out of a French fairytale. A Francophonic track of infused Judy Garland melodies got the show started, as girlish beauties like Ali Michael and Tanya Dziahileva modeled Sophie’s selection of flowing milkmaid dresses, peasant shirts, and babushka scarves.
Coco Rocha, a whimsical creature in her own right, stood hand in hand with the designer as she took her final bow. It was an inspiring moment, especially in light of the heartwarming words Sessilee Lopez spoke of the darling designer backstage. “I love her personality. She always makes us feel really great, and there’s no stress. It’s always really, really easy.” Sessilee explained. “She wants us to be pretty, and I really appreciate when designers can see me in that light since I’m always the hard, androgynous one, you know?
