Lacoste kicked off the first show of the weekend earlier this morning with a collection that payed tribute to the house’s asymmetrical color blocking styles from the 1980’s. Structured, oversized shirts and baggy trouser pants gave way to looser fitting polo dresses, and this season’s new “jogging suit.” Of course, you can’t reference the 80’s without throwing in a fanny pack or two! Creative Director Felipe Oliveira Baptista added the blacklisted accessory under printed shirts and in his light athletic jackets. The techno-sport fabrics that have become synonymous with the brand, used a clean, white palette as a jumping off point for the gradual addition of translucent grey, pale yellow, electric blue, and fiery orange hues. The model lineup was also a sight to see, as runway favorites Aymeline Valade, Daria Strokous, Kati Nescher, and Hanne Gaby Odiele stomped the runway to the killer soundtrack blaring overhead. Fellow top models Ruby Aldridge, Julia Nobis, Mackenzie Drazan, Zuzanna Bijoch, and Bette Franke, rounded out the cast of sporty beauties for a collection that was relaxed and very playful.
