But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. While the models took their places for the run-through, Alessandra Ambrosio was fielding question after question from reporters backstage. No, she wasn’t walking, but rather experiencing her first moment sitting front row at a fashion show. Modelinia surprised her with Heidi Klum’s brand-new Barbie doll while waiting for the show to begin. As soon as she appeared from backstage, it was as if the photographer water parted. She took to the runway and posed for pictures, keeping the press calm like a total pro. Ale was joined on the runway by fellow model Veronica Webb, fresh from the previous night’s performance by Jay-Z, who mentioned that she loves models attending fashion shows in addition to walking. “I met Lauren Hutton at a Chanel fashion show,” she said. “She was sitting front row and introduced herself to me. If you love fashion, you stay in fashion.”
