Ever the champion of self esteem and healthy body image, Coco Rocha is expanding her outreach from the fashion industry to the teenage audience. She’s teamed up with Seventeen magazine to serve as a member of their Body Peace Council, along with Serena Williams, Amber Riley, Whitney Port and Katherine Schwarzenegger.
As one of the world’s top models and a regular on not only the catwalk, but also the red carpet and television, Coco has prime authority to speak to teenagers on her experience and opinion. She’s served as muse to many a designer and parlayed her talents into on camera reporting as well as designing, in addition to speaking up on the beauty of health.
In her very first blog to Seventeen magazine, Coco addressed the idea of confidence and staying true to who you are. “True beauty radiates from within,” she said, “and I think that loving yourself and being confidant in who you are as a person is by far the most beautiful thing in the world.”
Hopefully teenagers and preteens will place their impressionable opinions in role models like Coco as opposed to the multiple negative influences in today’s world.
