September is almost here! Any fashionista will tell you that as a kid, back-to-school shopping is one of the most anticipated events of the year. While we may not be stocking up on glue sticks and notebooks these days, we are preparing for one of the biggest events of the year- Fall fashion month! The weeks before the runway shows begin in New York are basically like “back-to-school” for the fashion crew. Most of the nerves over the approaching event are caused by one nagging question we’ve all lost sleep over before: “what am I going to wear!?” So rather than trying to coordinate all the Fall trends (shiny fabrics, printed pants, and pointy shoes) we’re going to be sticking to the collegiate style that’s proven tried and true.
After all, with smoking slippers, plaid pants, and monogram sweaters, you really can’t go wrong. Jessica Stam embraced the Ivy-league style in a Thom Brown pleated mini-skirt during couture week and was feminine perfection. We also suggest taking on a more tom-boy interpretation of the style with tailored pants and oversize sweaters. Nail this look and you’ll get in A+ come fashion week.
