If you watched last night’s Nashville premiere, perhaps you too are longing for cowboy boots and the sound of slide guitars. Forget the golden sequined dresses and over-styled hair ‘dos! These authentic tough girl duds will have you feeling like you could saddle up and hit the open trail. More True Grit than Country Strong, these western inspired wares are the tried and true staples that will get you through Fall without any fuss. A natural progression from last year’s Navajo and Pendleton craze, designers looked to the American cowboy’s take on craft and design this season. Model favorite, Isabel Marant, created yoked shirts with floral embroidery, pointy silver capped boots and low slung boot cut jeans that reminded us of our childhood cowgirl dreams. The now infamous embroidered Marant jeans and boots have been seamlessly adopted into the wardrobes of Kate Moss, Erin Wasson and Ruby Aldridge. Marant, however is not the only Parisian designer to adopt the cowboy couture trend. If there is one thing to take away from Hedi Slimane’s controversial collection for Saint Laurent, it was this: Hats! Oh, and fringe of course! We for one are happy to see that this no-nonsense trend is here to stay. Ride off into the sunset with our favorite Western style picks!
