Last night,”Team Supermodel” stormed the world stage in what was one of the most celebrated fashion moments we’ve seen in a long time and, as general consensus would have it, they totally owned it!
Just as we expected, supermodels Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Stella Tennant, Georgia May Jagger, Jourdan Dunn, Lily Cole, Lily Donaldson, and Karen Elson, set jaws dropping worldwide as they stepped out in their dazzling, gold encrusted British designs. Like the true fashion icons they are, the girls emerged onto the Union Jack catwalk from enormous floats draped in the blown-up Nick-Knight photographs featured in Vogue UK’s September issue, while David Bowie’s hit “Fashion” blared over the sound system.

Dripping in shimmering gold, Kate Moss stole the show in an Alexander McQueen liquid gold gown, further proving why she has been crowned ‘Kate the Great’ in the past. Fellow supermodel extraordinaire, Naomi Campbell, also rocked an Alexander McQueen design, while Georgia May Jagger flaunted a gold-plated Victoria Beckham dress- who we imagine was quite proud as she watched her design hit the runway from backstage. As for the other girls, Lily Cole wore Erdem; Karen Elson wore Burberry, Lily Donaldson wore Vivienne Westwood, Jourdan Dunn stunned in Jonathan Saunders, and Stella Tennant went glam rock in a Christopher Kane pant suit.

What was equally as thrilling as the actual show however, was the top model Twitter conversation that occurred throughout the official Live Stream. Leading ladies Anne V., Coco Rocha, and Karlie Kloss took to Twitter to support their British peers as they walked the catwalk, adding their own special model commentary about the night’s happenings along the way.
“@missjourdandunn: OMG that was CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Jour you were AMAAAAAAZING ;) so proud of you!!!!!!!” tweeted Karlie after the show.
“#KateMoss on fire!” added Coco.
Although far too brief for our liking, there’s no denying that the model extravaganza was a huge success for Great Britain, and the show’s patriotic models.
“Omg we did it! I had the best time,The most amazing girls in the world! #closingceremony,” exclaimed Georgia May Jagger after her stunning performance.
We couldn’t agree more!

And, to top it all off, Alessandra Ambrosio made one stunning appearance at the end of the evening in a gleaming silver gown, as she accepted the Olympic flag on behalf of her native Brazil, who will host the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Did you catch her awesome samba moves?
Although we’re sad to see it go, the London Games couldn’t have ended on a more glamorous note! Relive all the glory with a look at “Team Supermodel’s” gold-medal worthy performance in the photos below!
