The Bride of Chanel

It wouldn’t be a Chanel runway show without a massive and highly impressive set. This year huge bottles of Chanel No. 5 lined the stage, when in past years it’s been a carousel of accessories or intricate cutouts of white flowers.

At the show, editors were greeted with plush sheets and champagne, and treated to a gorgeous show full of the genius that is Karl Lagerfeld, which translated into a collection full of trains, embellishments, and handcrafting that was both elegant and breathtaking.

Of course Sasha Pivovarova opened the show, and Lara Stone closed it in the typical couture wedding gown. She stepped out of the huge fragrance bottle with Baptiste Giabiconi on her arm—both in pure white.

And what a feat: removing all the black from her hair from the Givenchy show just in time for the white moment in Chanel!

And to top off her amazing day at couture, Lara’s also on the August ‘09 cover of W, shot by Steven Klein, with the title: “Fashion’s It Girl.” She chatted to the magazine about her current moment in the spotlight, the size 7 feet, and her signature gap in her teeth.
