Paris is the city where all the trends come together. You’ll have to forgive my silence, in addition to getting lost in the seraglio at Dior, there was no internet connection working in my hotel. To top that off, I decided to lose the charger to the phone and spent the weekend doing things the old fashioned way – I talked to people and turned up where and when I said I would.
Speaking of old fashioned, in Paris it is all about the women. As the plight of the world economy is not far from everyone’s thoughts, it is time to turn to the women. Faces you know, faces you trust – like brands that have a label which won’t let you down – are reassuringly striding the runways.
Faces that dominated the runways of London and Milan have taken a back seat – until they come of age. Just as the French insist on a good vintage, so too is the law that no girl can do the runway till she has turned sixteen… so it will be next year that Jac conquers the City of Light.
