The Hottest Hair Trends For Fall From Some Of Our Favorite Hair Stylists!

With Fall lying just around the corner, it has come to our attention that our wardrobe isn’t the only thing that will need a serious update in the coming weeks.  Great style is essentially a package deal, composed of all aspects of our look from head-to-toe. When we suffer from a bad hair day then, our style takes a hit.  Looking to avoid said disaster, we took to some of our favorite hair experts on Tumblr for the hottest trend updates and pro tips to help refresh our look this season.

Below, see what Sarah Conner of Neil George salon in LA, who has worked on runway shows for Yigal Azrouel and several model clients-  had to say about some of her favorite products and hair trends this season.

Hot Hair Trends:

As far as color goes— I think the past few seasons of hair color have been sooo trendy with ombre being in, that now that’s becoming more mainstream across the map.  The trend is to not be so trendy, and to keep the color simple and more natural.   I’ve been connecting a lot of ombre roots to transform the color into a more blended look as opposed to the color looking so extreme and two toned.  So, the more solid looks are definitely what I’m seeing these days.  Blondes are wanting to be really blonde, and brunettes are wanting to be truly brunette.  Fun pops of dusty pastel colors are still really popular.  I feel like you are seeing more interesting versions of it though lately, as opposed to a panel of pink here or purple there.  The tones are either more translucent- for example, purples are barely there with more hints of silvery grey in them as opposed to bright purple tones.  I’ve also been doing a fair amount of muted rainbow pastel tones… almost like ice cream sherbet.

Top Styles:

People are more willing to lose length these days.  Extremely long with a lot of layers isn’t as popular.  It’s more about sexy collarbone length and solid form for shape.  They’re also chopping it off all together and rocking cute short cuts with a bit of a pixie edge.

Sarah’s Go-To Summer Products:

Neil George Indian Gooseberry Oil- A must!  I use it on every client.  The hero product of the Neil George line, a styling and treatment oil of Indian Gooseberry, rich in antioxidants for dry, chemically challenged, and frizzy hair.  It’s a protectant, as well as a smoothing serum.  It makes blowdry’s shiny and silky smooth!

Rene Furterer Dry Shampoo-  My favorite of all dry shampoos.  Doesn’t get too cakey, and blends in with the roots nicely while absorbing oil for those hot days that are just too hot to wash and blowdry.
