It’s pretty obvious that Kanye West has a major appreciation for Irina Shayk. He dedicated an entire blog post to the Russian beauty, full of images of her work, and recently cast her in his latest music video, Power.
While models appearing in music videos is really nothing new, this latest West creation is a bit of a diversion from the usual. Inspired by the majestic art in the Sistene Chapel, Kanye worked with director Marco Brambilla to create his latest interpretation of song, eschewing the normal video form for a collage-like moving picture. As Kanye stands front and center, his leading lady Irina takes on an angelic role, sprouting wings and all - making us believe that she’s the true power source in this music video.
On another note, interestingly, Irina’s not the only model to make a recent appearance on Kanye’s personal blog, as both Natasha Poly and Bar Refaeli earned dedicated posts. Could they be the up and coming model music video stars?
