Continuing on with the resurgence of models, Jamie Bochert has her own one-page feature in the August ‘09 issue of Interview in a conversation with musician Kim Gordon from Sonic Youth.
While she disappeared from the industry a few years ago, she made a huge comeback by opening the Marc Jacobs show in September. But how has she been spending her time away from the runway? Making music in her apartment in Brooklyn it seems.
“I’ve been focused on figuring out the whole music thing and how to find my vision and just write songs,” she said. “I’ve been figuring out songs on the piano and the guitar and ways to make the sounds I hear in my head come out. It’s fun, but it’s challenging because I don’t have a lot of experience.”
But it’s not like she’s just starting out. Already Jamie has performed with Patti Smith in Paris, appeared in Kim’s film Perfect Partner, and plays gigs around New York City. So will we see more tunes by Jamie, or runway walking by Jamie? Hopefully both!
