Amber Le Bon is one lucky girl. She has a supermodel for a mom, Yasmin Le Bon, and a rock star for a father, Simon Le Bon. At 19, she’s already begun modeling, signed with Model’s One, guest edited the Moschino Cheap & Chic online boutique, and plans to make her catwalk debut next season.
But she also has a huge archive of designer fashion just sitting around for her, thanks to her mother’s experience in the industry. “There is a trunk of Azzedine Alaïa in storage just waiting for you,” her mom has told her. Amber has already commandeered a few pieces from that collection, including a black dress, which she wore to a fashion show and shocked Naomi Campbell. “She took one look at her in this dress and was speechless. She was shocked because she has so many memories of me in this dress. I used to wear it every day with riding boots, it was my uniform,” said Yasmin.
What else does Amber have in her very own vintage “store”? A blue-and-white Pucci-print cotton sundress; a pink Comme des Garçons dress that Rei Kawakubo personally gave to Yasmin; a black leather biker jacket from the ’80s; an Antony Price sage-green lace prom dress; a full-length, balloon-sleeved, ivory Ossie Clark gown; and more than 100 pieces from Azzedine Alaïa. Jeal.
