Make no mistake, these London Games have had their fair share of high fashion moments thus far, but the best is yet to come! Since hearing of the extravagant British fashion show set for the Closing Ceremony that will feature an all-star supermodel cast led by Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, we’ve been daydreaming endlessly about the assortment of top-model fashion awaiting us! To keep us from tormenting ourselves with anticipation any longer though, Vogue UK has released a sneak-peak of what we have to look forward to in a gold medal worthy editorial spread a part of the upcoming September issue.
In the spoiler spread, photographer Nick Knight shot the British runway stars in one-of-a-kind golden creations by the likes of UK favorites Alexander McQueen, Christopher Kane, and Burberry. Along with Kate and Naomi, the aptly named, “Midas Touch,” spread also features fellow UK beauties Georgia May Jagger, Karen Elson, Stella Tennant, Lily Cole, Lily Donaldson, and Jourdan Dunn.
The one-and-only Kate led the pack in a gold-sequin encrusted gown by Alexander McQueen, evoking a modern day Botticelli beauty. Meanwhile, Stella Tennant rocks a crystal and gold mesh pantsuit by Christopher Kane- perfectly fitting with the show’s rumored David Bowie soundtrack! Karen Elson also showed off her British pride-and mile long stems!- in a corseted, spaghetti-strap lace number, while Jourdan Dunn scored winning style in an impressive gold feathered headdress by milliner, Stephen Jones. And, lets not forget the always stunning Naomi, whose glittering McQueen dress, gold-dusted tulle cape, and Olympian crown, created a look fit for Helen of Troy herself.
