Thursdays with Tyra

On Thursday afternoon, Modelinia mixed a trio of our favorite things: models, fashion, and social media thanks to the effervescent Tyra Banks.

It all started at the Crosby Street Hotel, where Tyra hosted an intimate tea party for women in the industry. Over scones and cupcakes, a roundtable discussion took place and friends were quickly made. Ever the probing individual, Tyra reached out with the inquisitive questions, such as finding inspiration, managing to stay on top of all the news, and the benefit of social media…as well as the hindrance.

After smizing for a quick pic with the supermodel, it was off to the fourth annual NewFront hosted by Digitas & The Third Act, where Tyra was set to speak about TypeF and her experience at Harvard Business school! Fortune magazine’s Pattie Sellers hosted a quick conversation with the supermodel, who’s one of only eighteen women in her class at business school. A quick peek at her latest Fa-Fa-Fa Fashion video lended easily to questions about her future goals, which range from entering the world as an author to graduating from business school to future extend the definition of beauty.

As it turns out, Tyra’s rebranding her company Bankable and let the attendees in on the secret that she’s changing the name. Though she wasn’t ready to share just yet, Tyra did divulge a few more details about what’s keeping her busy lately. Her very first book is currently in the editing stage, so Tyra’s trying to cut it down from 1,000 pages, and aiming for a release date of September 13! Mark those calendars…
