Tommy's 25 Candles

To ring in a quarter of a century, Tommy Hilfiger went big. From the massive TH decorating the plaza at Lincoln Center to the immense celeb front row including Ed Westwick, Bradley Cooper, Christina Hendricks, Jennifer Lopez, and model-turned-actress Rebecca Romijn, the 25th anniversary of the Tommy brand was feted in a major way.

For the runway show, Tommy showed a selection of eye-popping colors and preppy, country club approved styles on models including Karlie Kloss, Lisanne de Jong, and Frida Gustavsson. Models strutted down the runway, lined on the perimeter with faux grass, as if they were on their way to a game of tennis, as the backdrop changed from blue skies to a sunset.

After the show, the backstage was so hectic, with flutes of champagne being passed around and congratulations being offered, that many models, including Frida, chose to exit through the front in order to escape the madness. She was rushing off to fittings for Calvin Klein and Marc Jacobs, for a late night of prep along with many other runway mavens.

Afterwards, guests moved next-door to the Opera where celebs, guests and models including Tori Praver hung out on a selection of three balconies, waiting for The Strokes to perform. Given the over the top feeling and mass amount of guests, it felt as if the gloom of the recession had lifted and purse strings were loosened. Clearly fashion insiders felt the same as we saw more than a few people dancing their hearts out to The Strokes, as if it were a concert and not a fashion party. ~ Bianca Posterli
