Up, Down, or Pink: The Best Hair Styles from the Met Gala

The dresses take center stage on the models at the Met Gala, but don’t forget the hours that these ladies sit with their hair stylists. Some make the hair part of the look, while others just seem to want to get it out of the way. Here are the tresses trends that we loved on the red carpet.

Uptown vs. Downtown

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley showed up in a body skimming gown which she emphasized by pulling her hair up off of her shoulders into a voluminous bun. Her hair was the epitome of regal and sophisticated, which gave it that Upper East Side glamour just perfect for a night at The Met.

On a totally different level, Coco Rocha showed that this event is all about being fashion-forward—and getting respect for it! As if it wasn’t enough that she stepped onto the carpet in Elizabeth Taylor’s vintage Givenchy jumpsuit, she went ahead and had her long hot pink curls cascading down her shoulder.

SIDE SHOW

With a gown like that, Beyonce made the right choice getting her hair out of the way —but she did so with a side part, making it interesting without messing with that out-of-this-world Givenchy Haute Couture dress.

Gisele Bündchen, who also wore Givenchy, pulled back her hair with a side part as well. Clearly there’s no getting in the way of these designer dresses, or need to overdo it with the hair when the gown is bringing that much glam!

These ladies are all proof that if your hair is styled perfectly there is no right or wrong on the red carpet—especially at an event that has a respect for individuality.
