Up to the Minute Details from the Costume Institute Gala!

Anticipation is quickly growing as models prep for the annual Met’s Costume Institute Gala honoring Alexander McQueen! As with every year, details surrounding the festivities are heavily guarded, including that of models and their designer dates.

Obviously, given the dedication to the late Alexander McQueen, the opportunity to wear one of his gowns to the event is a massive honor. One of the supermodels enjoying this honor is Gisele Bündchen, who is set to wear a bright red strapless gown by McQueen! She Tweeted a picture of her dress before leaving her hotel to head to the Met, satiating her fans in their desire to see her before hitting the museum’s red carpet steps. “When I was 17 McQueen gave me my first big break by booking me for his fashion show. Doing his show opened many doors for my career,” she said.

Gisele’s not the only one experiencing a McQueen moment tonight. Though she was originally angling for one of the more over the top Alexander creations, Coco Rocha is set to also don a McQueen design.

Seems like red is going to be a trend at this year’s Costume Institute gala! Here’s a first look at Doutzen Kroes in her gown!

In beauty land, Caroline Trentini and Doutzen Kroes shared quick pics from the makeup chair, while Constance Jablonski, Liu Wen, Hilary Rhoda, and Joan Smalls prepped in the Estee Lauder suite with stylist Mary Alice Stephenson. The stylist shared a sneak peek at the crazy fabulous shoes (above) that Constance will be wearing!
