Welcome to Hotel Louis Vuitton

Marc Jacobs promised a “real experience” for the Louis Vuitton show, and it was exactly that.

A set of four elevators delivered 67 models to the runway, where they were welcomed onto the set by butlers, personally opening the elevators doors. Ginta LapinaMaryna LinchukCarmen KassCarolyn MurphyFrida GustavssonNatasha Poly, Ming Xi, and Anais Pouliot strutted around the square runway, debuting the latest Louis Vuitton collection, inspired by a mix of fashion and fetishism and a combination of hotels.

But between the spectacular designs and the impressive model cast, no one was prepared for the magical moment that Marc provided. At one point, the elevator doors opened to deliver Naomi Campbell! And if that wasn’t enough, Marc coerced his friend, supermodel, Kate Moss to close the show! She strode out in a pair of boy shorts and a jacket accented by Mongolian fur sleeves, with her hair slicked back in a ponytail, stealing the show, causing editors and guests to enter into a tizzy of excitement.

Considering she retired from the runway back in 2004, and the fact that Kate’s only walked in a handful of shows since - mostly for the benefit of charity or friends, this is a serious occasion. It would be interesting to hear just how Marc convinced Kate to return to the runway as his show closer, but regardless of how or why, he certainly provided a legendary memory to end the Fall 2011 season. Kate AND Naomi, reunited on one runway! Truly a fashion moment to cherish.
