It’s well-known that Madonna is all about the idea of re-invention and expanding her creative capabilities into every industry possible. From music to design, she’s done it all, and now it seems she’s branching out into fashion campaigns as well.
Ginta Lapina, Lindsey Wixson, Siri Tollerød, and Daphne Groeneveld came together to film the Fall 2010 campaign, fully expecting Mert Atlas and Marcus Pigott to serve as the camera geniuses. Instead, Madonna showed up on set, brandishing her new directing capabilities. “We were supposed to shoot a video, so Madonna said she wanted to direct it,” said Lapina. “She put on her iPod and taught us moves and we shot the video for two hours.”
The end result features the girls appearing perfectly playful as they stomp, dance, pull each other’s hair, and give their best Miu Miu face for the campaign - so clearly the creative combination was a success.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Madonna’s crossed paths with a model. You’ll remember that she’s reportedly directing a film starring Liberty Ross.
