Paris during Couture Fashion Week—Ooh, La, La! With all it’s luxurious decadence, Couture Fashion Week is the ideal time to sit in romantic cafes and nightclubs and people watch - that is, unless you’re one of the lucky few to snag an invite to a show. Since Couture Fashion Week starts next Monday and all the most beautiful models, inspired designers, and artistic fashion lovers will be in town, we thought it was the perfect time to share some model favorite Parisian hotspots. So without further ado, here are the places to see and be seen during Couture Fashion Week!
For Tea or Brunch:
Head over to Le Loir dans la Théière with its Alice in Wonderland interior and furniture that looks like it’s been pulled from flea markets around the world. With 18 varieties of tea and an endless selection of home-style pies and delicacies, once you nab a table at this café, be sure to hold on to it for a while.
To Escape the Cold:
Chances are the weather in the upcoming week will be cold, so warm up at Angelina with a cup of its world famous dark and rich hot chocolate. This decadent treat is so addicting that Gisele Bündchen once made a beeline for this café on the Rue de Rivoli when she had a layover in Paris en route from Istanbul to the U.S.
For a Proper Meal:
The classic L’Avenue is close to the Dior Atelier and the crowd dining within reflects that proximity. Models and celebrities alike nosh on tartine amidst the velvet and gold interior and get drinks (Champagne, obviously) on the second floor bar.
For a Night Out:
Head to Silencio Club by David Lynch that just opened in October. The door policy is strict, but if you are a top model (or at least have great style) the velvet ropes should be lifted and you’ll be let into this half nightclub/half artist salon for an evening of endless fun. Kanye West held the after party for his DW collection at this nightspot with guests like Bar Refaeli, Karlie Kloss, and Chanel Iman.
For a Shopping Spree:
Shoppers in Paris still rely on Colette to give them the best of Lanvin and Margiela, while also letting them know that street brands like Bathing Ape are still in vogue. This independent store has become a worldwide phenomenon despite just being a relatively small shop on Rue Saint-Honoré. Claudia Schiffer, Lily Cole and Erin Wasson make regular trips to the store, while all the French models wouldn’t dare go anywhere else.
