Who's Afraid of Color?

While most designers hire musical coordinators to arrange their lyrical tunes, Carlos Miele goes one step further. Lucky ladies Lisanne de Jong, Heidi Mount, and Lovani Pinnow all walked in the designer’s Spring 2011 show yesterday to the sounds of a live Bebel Gilberto singing Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall.” Featuring a multitude of floor-length gowns and elegant cocktail dresses, Carlos created a collection that we can only expect to see on upcoming red-carpet best-dressed lists. Not shying away from bold colors, Carlos showcased royal blues, orangey reds, and lime greens as well as a beautiful silk fabric ornamented with a butterfly motif. Although the collection is said to be inspired by Pink Floyd, all we could think about was the impeccable silhouettes gliding down the runway, accentuating our top models’ breathtaking features. We’ll take Heidi in a floor-length black tulle evening gown any day of the week. ~ Sonia Evers
