Late last night, The Imagist posted an article naming who they perceive to be the last great editorial star of our generation - Daria Werbowy. While the modeling industry currently knows her as a high fashion runway model and the face of Lancôme, not to mention a venerable talent in the street style world, it seems her star power could have taken an entirely different turn. An exclusive bidding war between Lancôme and Victoria’s Secret over Daria back in 2005 obviously ended with a beauty contract for the model, and possibly ultimately changed her work focus in the industry for good. Considering the timing of last night’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, it’s interesting to find out now that Daria could have very well joined the ranks of Angels including Alessandra Ambrosio, Behati Prinsloo, and Chanel Iman. Fresh off the news of her appearance in the Pirelli calendar and her exclusive moment in the French Vogue calendar, not to mention the countless editorials she’s posed for, it’s obvious that Daria exudes sexiness, high fashion, and beauty - a trio of talents that has obviously not slipped passed casting directors all over.
