It’s hard enough to fit in time for sleep and relaxation as a model, let alone a regular workout regime. So most models, including Jessica Pérez, have found that it’s all about the simple ways of working out. That means Jessica has become a huge fan of running, Pilates, and Yoga - paired of course with sessions from her trainer, Justin Gelband, when she’s in town.
For Jessica, it’s all about the details of the workout that make it perfection, no matter where she may be in the world. For each activity, Yoga, Pilates, and running, she has a few specifications. When she’s at home in New York, she’s a regular at Abhyasa Yoga Center in Brooklyn, perfecting her favorite pose - the triangle. As for Pilates, capri yoga pants are a must, simply based on the workout style. When it comes to running, her outfit requires a few necessities: new running shoes every six months, tank tops only, and racer-back style sports bras. And though her travel as a model does make it hard to keep regular appointments with Justin, yoga allows her to connect with anyone, despite the language barrier. ”The cool thing about yoga is that it’s like the universal exercise, even if you don’t speak the language,” said Jessica. “You could go to France or Germany and just copy what the person is doing next to you.”
