Project Runway is one of our favorite shows, but we always felt bad for the poor models who got the boot if their designer partner created a fashion don’t. So it only seemed fair that this time around Lifetime is giving the ladies who model the clothes—instead of just the designers—their own show. Models of the Runway will air right after Project Runway this year, and the girls are competing for a $25,000 cash prize plus a spread in Marie Claire.
Some girls to look forward to include Kojii Helnwein, who got her start doing runway for John Rocha and loves Häagen-Dazs ice cream, as well as Emarie Wiltz, who likes to scuba dive and says her favorite catwalk song is “anything Beyoncé.”
We will definitely be looking forward to Emarie channeling a little Sasha Fierce on the runway during the premiere on August 20, not to mention even more reality television that incorporates modeling. If giving up two hours every week to indulge these guilty pleasures (and eat some Häagen-Dazs) is wrong, then we really, really don’t want to be right. ~ Jane Adams
