Zac Posen Likes Real Models

After a full night and day of Valentine’s loving in the fashion industry, models got up super early to arrive backstage at Zac Posen’s show.

Coco Rocha made her second runway appearance of the week, after strutting down Diane von Furstenberg’s catwalk. The model turned on-air reporter has been beyond busy this season, as she added another job to her workload as Modelinia correspondent for our Fashion Week TV show on NY25, but she blocked out time for a few of her favorite designers. Zac showed a full collection of ’40s-inspired looks, which surprisingly did not include any long dresses, proving that short dresses are the new uniform for formal wear. We caught up with the designer at Rose Bar as he celebrated another successful season and chatted about his cast and model loves.

“For me, I had my favorite cast that I’ve ever had. It felt fresh, focused with a new wave and a new point of view. For me it’s always about representing special women, and backstage the group of empowered girls and women was really overwhelming. There are new stars to be made and the opportunity is out there for the first time in my years to see the new wave of collabortators. For me, my models bring everything to life and they’re my greatest inspiration. Being able to have people with such power like Coco [Rocha] and Alek [Wek]…it’s really important to bring diversity like that. If you’re a real designer, you like real models.” ~ Bianca Posterli
